Tim Maile - Founder / Lead Investigator
In January 2008 I helped found Fox Cities Paranormal Team and cannot believe how far we have come as a group. This journey all started when I bought a home in Oshkosh back in October 2006. Within weeks I was experiencing footsteps, voices, and shadows. Having never dealt with the paranormal it had me concerned. I came across some paranormal television shows and tried to contact teams in my area. I couldn't get a return email and decided to educate myself on the subject. Over a year later, more comfortable with the paranormal I decided that I would try to help others who were having the same issues that I had. In the last 11 years, some amazing things have happened and I have had the good fortune to meet many great people in this field. It was an invite to the 2009 Ohio Paranormal Convention that provided me with the confidence that we as a team were doing a good thing. I listened and learned from some of the most respected people in the field that weekend and came home with a sense of purpose. Through that one weekend so many doors opened up for the team and I. I have spoken at many conferences around the country and into Canada. I have led my team on more than 200 residential investigations to date.Along the way I have met some incredible people and made some great friends. I have been consulted by teams that are just starting up. It is an honor to help young teams get better and learn some new techniques. I feel that we are all in this field together and we all reflect on one another, so helping younger teams is necessary to advance the field. Most importantly, we have had the privilege to help dozens of families throughout Wisconsin. It is my hope that we as a group can help people deal with their paranormal experiences. I hope we can further the field of paranormal studies and help bring answers to the people who really need them.

Tony Macareo - Co-Founder/Consultant
I was born and raised in Wyoming, Pennsylvania and moved out to Wisconsin in 1997. I really like the Fox cities and I enjoy living in Oshkosh. I have been interested in the paranormal ever since I was in high school. I love history and doing research and feel very compelled to be involved in this field and help others. Tony has recently cut back on his investigation duties due to scheduling conflicts but is still a valuable consultant for the team. During Tony's tenure with the team he has investigated claims of activity at many residential properties and several haunted locations such as Central House, Old Funeral Home in Kewaunee, Kewaunee Inn & Ohio State Reformatory. Tony was also a speaker at the Wisconsin Paranormal Conference & spoke at our very first Ghost Tour and Dinner.

I was born in Appleton and raised in New London. After graduating high school, I joined the Army and spent the next 4 years of my life in Fort Drum, NY. Six of those months were spent on a tour in Egypt. I got out as an E-5/Sergeant, got a normal job, and ended up joining the National Guard. 10 days before I got out, my unit got deployed to Iraq. I spent the next year in a tent. After that, I went back to work and met Tim. Tim and I had several mutual interests, so when he brought up he was forming a paranormal team and needed a fourth member to round out the group, I jumped on it. Our first investigation was back in Feb 08 and apparently I did an alright job, since I'm still here. Since that time, I've been a part of several Ghost Tour and Dinners at both The Central House and The Kewaunee Inn, The Wisconsin Paranormal Conference, and numerous residential and commercial investigations. As much as I enjoy investigating commercial buildings, due to the slightly more relaxed atmosphere, residential investigation is where my passion truly lies. There's something about working with the client, getting them answers, helping them understand what they're dealing with, and most importantly, helping them feel comfortable in their own home. My job description on the team is Tech Manager. This includes going on the walk through, finding where we want our IR cameras, and setting them up to get the best shot possible in our hot spots. As an added "bonus", I also seem to be the guy that gets to head up into the attics and the dirtiest parts of the basements. There are some places that people don't feel comfortable going that we need to get to. As much as I don't enjoy it, I feel it is a huge obligation to our clients to make sure we are 100% thorough. If I need to climb into a webby attic to do that, that's what I'm going to do. I've also seemed to have gained a reputation as "The guy who doesn't see anything." I kind of take that as a compliment. I'm very critical of myself and of what I see. If there is even a 1% of doubt, then it's no good to me. I would not feel right telling a client about something that I wasn't entirely sure about myself. I may only have one personal experience as of present time, but that one means a lot to me. I know what I saw and there was no possible explanation as to how it happened. Having checked all possible avenues, I was left with no other choice than to admit I had a paranormal experience. I have a very strong love and passion for this field. Helping others is very much a part of who I am. I was proud of that fact while I was in the Army and I'm glad I can continue the trend in this field.

I’m originally from Berlin, WI and I’ve been a member of the Fox Cities Paranormal Team since 2016. I’ve always had an interest in the paranormal field, way before it was main-stream and there were TV shows about it. I remember spending hours in my local library reading as many books as I could get my hands on trying to learn and understand about “Ghosts” and “Hauntings” and such things. I had had a few things happen to me as a child that fueled this interest and as I got older and had some add’l situations come up I’ve always tried to seek out answers. After moving to the Appleton area I was lucky enough to come across a Ghost Breakfast Meetup group which was my first attempt at joining other like minded individuals and discussing equipment and investigations. I was invited to go along on a group investigation to Mansfield Reformatory (a.k.a Ohio State Reformatory) by a larger group from Chicago and I was hooked for life. I love history and helping people – and I’ve found that I can combine the 2 when I’m able to go to these types of Historical locations. I was beyond honored when I was asked to join this team and enjoy being able to help provide answers, and most importantly relief for families experiencing some sort of activity. I love being able to be a part of a team that will go to any lengths and do whatever we can to help people understand what may or may not be happening in their home and hopefully when all is said and done being able to put them at ease. Fox Cities Paranormal Team has become my second family and I’m so grateful to be a part of something so special.

I have been a member of Fox Cities Paranormal Team since April of 2010. I am a product of one of the Ghost Tour and Dinners the team put together for the public to be a part of so that they can take part in what we do on a regular basis. I have had incidents occur since an early age that I cannot pass off as coincidence. Because of these incidents, I have become interested in the unknown and what happens to individuals once they pass on. I am also interested in helping people find the answers that may be perplexing them whether by debunking creaks in the night or the noises caused by something else.

I've always had an interest in the paranormal. As a young child I felt things "watching" me that never really went away. The paranormal field is always evolving. There are more questions, than answers. My drive for this field is personal; I work with the elderly and I have seen many unexplained things. Being in such a great group, I feel educates me and helps me in the different stages of a person's life.
